ASABA — THE Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) in charge of the South-South Zones Five and Six, Mr. Musa Abdulkadir, in Asaba, gave a marching order to the two Commissioners of Police in Edo and Delta states where no fewer than 13 policemen were recently gunned down by armed bandits to fish out the killers in no distant time.
While describing the bloody attacks on policemen in Edo and Delta states as “nothing but criminality” he said that he had during a closed-door session with the commissioners advised that extra security measures be taken to avert future occurrence.
Abdulkadir later told reporters that “we have advised them on measures to take. It is a security measure which cannot be made public”, he stated, adding that “the policemen had been advised to take necessary steps to protect themselves and their stations.”
The DIG said that he was also in Edo State where the Police Commissioner there briefed him on the action taken so far to arrest the bandits that snuffed life out of eight policemen in the state and recover stolen arms.
