Govt Settles N.5m Medical Bills From Saka Ibrahim in Gombe Gombe State Government has paid over N500,000 to settle medical expenses of 30 accident victims which occured at Dukku Motor Park. The cheque for the amount was presented yesterday to management of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Gombe, by the Commissioner for Health, Dr Isa Inna, on behalf of the state government. While presenting the cheque, Inna said the amount was the payment for medical bill of over 30 accident victims treated at the hospital. According to Inna, it was in fulfillment of government's promise to assist the victims. He said government would continue to address the people's plight and ensure it gives succour. He expressed satisfaction with the management of the hospital for its concern towards providing health care services to the victims. The medical Director, Alhaji Halila El-Nafaty, commended government for fulfilling its promises, adding that over 30 people were admitted out of which 24 have been treated and discharged. It would be recalled that there was a multiple accident involving four vehicles at Dukku Motor Park three weeks ago.
