El-Rufai Tasks Firm, Opens Abuja Office From George Oji in Abuja Minister of Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, has challenged SAP, global software giants to recreate the same excellent and efficient services for which the German-based company is reputed internationally. The minister, who gave this charge while performing the official opening of the Abuja office of SAP Nigeria, urged the company to design ways of partnering with Federal Government in its current reform programmes. Managing Director of SAP Nigeria, Mr. Soji Apampa, in his welcome address described the move to Abuja from Lagos as more than a change of office premises, but intended to offer a build-operate-manage consortium package, which kept initial investments and operating costs low. He said the company would focus on using local partners to provide customer support. Apampa disclosed that his company planned a new customer solution centre with Siemens Business Services to offer solutions and infrastructure management, value-added services and a call centre. He added that with subsidiaries in over 50 countries, SAP today is one of the world's largest software companies, serving over 23,000 organisations in 120 countries.
