Monarch Deposed for Alleged Misconduct From Bala Nasir in Dutse A traditional ruler in Dutse Emirate, Jigawa State, Malam Salisu Isah, has been removed from office for alleged misconduct and forceful confiscation of property belonging to his subjects. Isah, who is the village head of Gidan Gona in Gunka District of Jahun Local Government allegedly unlawfully confiscating landed property belonging to his people, most senior councillor in the Emirate, Alhaji Bashir Sunusi said. He is also accused of allocating land to people though he has no business involving himself in land acquisition and allocation. "His actions are bound to create bad blood and conflicts in the area," Alhaji Bashir said. Sunusi warned that the emirate council will not condone indiscipline from any person in the hierarchy of the emirate. "Any misbehaviour from any traditional ruler in the emirate is bound to smear the whole emirate, thereby tarnishing our good image." The sacking of the village head, he said, will serve as deterrent to others who are intending to act in the same way Salisu Isah said. He admonished leaders both political and traditional to desist from any action that is capable of smearing their image or creating bad blood among the people they are leading.
