SPEB Denies Corruption Charge Akwa Ibom From Efem Nkanga in Uyo Chief Fidelis Etim, Chairman and Chief Executive of Akwa Ibom Primary Education Board (SPEB) has debunked allegations of corruption levelled against his organisation. Etim said allegation that the board was collecting various sums of money ranging from between N10,000 and N40,000 from applicants was false and entirely baseless, attributing the allegation to rumour merchants who are out to discredit the board. He said due process is applied in all the activities of the board, and described the allegations as the work of those who delight in engaging in the ''pull him down syndrome." He challenged anyone who had proof of paying any official any sum of money for employment purposes to come out with proof, promising that he will leave no stone unturned in taking action on the matter. "Nobody would be cheated in this place and we shall continue to support and protect those who sufficiently feel they have been victimised". Etim said he had been unjustifiably accused of paying the boards cheque into his personal account, so that it would yield profit and that he had inflated teachers' number so as to make more money for himself, adding that the accusations were baseless and ridiculous."
