Frowns over non payment of salaries to suspended lawmakers

National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Audu Ogbeh, has said his party would not sacrifice Plateau State to another party, noting that the party has made enough sacrifice.
Ogbeh queried the non-payment of salaries and wages to the members of the suspended Plateau State House of Assembly, stating that "you ought to be paid."
PDP boss spoke at the closing ceremony of the special seminar, which the party organised for the Speakers and Principal Officers of the PDP- state Houses of Assembly over the weekend.
According to Ogbeh, who was replying to complaints by some members of the Plateau State House of Assembly at the seminar, added that "Reconciliations are currently going on. Plateau State is a PDP state. We have made enough sacrifice and we are not going to sacrifice the state. There is no reason to waste what we have."
PDP chairman queried the non-payment of salaries to the suspended members of the Plateau State House of Assembly, saying "it ought not to be in the first place."
Ogbeh, who was responding to the complaints of the principal officers of the suspended Plateau State House of Assembly, explained that "you ought to be paid and the salaries must be paid."
He promised the Plateau legislators that he would take up the matter with the appropriate authorities, observing that "PDP would not leave the matter like that."
Ogbeh called on the lawmakers to always stand up to defend the party, stating that "PDP is your party; please defend it at all times."
PDP chief used the occasion to commend the Senators for giving the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mallam Nasir el-Rufai, a chance to apologise for his unsavoury comment on the them.
According to Ogbeh, "I also thank the Senators for the maturity they displayed when they allowed el-Rufai to appear before the Senate. It takes courage to even pardon and listen to an offending person. For accepting that he should appear before them to apologise, the Senators have shown a sense of maturity."
