Gov. Daniel urges corp members to develop themselves

KOLA ADEPOJU, Abeokuta

GOVERNOR Gbenga Daniel of Ogun State Thursday charged fresh corps members to go for higher degree after completing their national service in order to realise their fullest potentials.

Daniel who was represented by his Youths and Sports commissioner, Chief Fatai Sowemimo gave the advice at the inductionof Batch B 2004 corps members deployed to Ogun State and held at NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp, Sagamu.

According to him, "The sky is your limit; I want to encourage you to pursue higher degrees after a successful completion of your national service."

Welcoming the corps members, Daniel reiterated government’s support towards achieving the lofty ideals for which NYSC was established.

Consequently, he promised to rehabilitate NYSC Orientation camp before the next service year and would as well provide bus to assist the scheme in the state.

Earlier in his address, the state Director of NYSC, Chief Sylvanus Onuoha disclosed that 1,703 corps comprising 949 males and 754 females had been registered for camp.

He further disclosed that 200 working course officials from the military, police, Man ‘O’ War and NYSC were participating in the course.

The state Chief Judge, Justice Oluremi Jacobs who was represented by Justice Funke Adesida administered the oath of allegiance on the corps members.
