Governor Nnamani who made the call when the committee paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Enugu noted that equitable representation has become necessary as it would help promote national cohesion. According to him, "This would help give Nigerians irrespective of tribe a true sense of belonging, encourage them to work harder towards the development of the country and have equal access to the dividends of democracy." He described the intellectual status of the present members of the National Assembly as unparalleled adding that they recognized the separation of powers, which according to him, was very important to the survival of democracy in the country. Speaking earlier, Senator Ken Nnamani had told the governor that the committee was in the state to ensure that employment pattern in the federal establishment was in line with section 14-three and four of the 1999 Constitution. "The work of the committee is to ensure that all states are duly represented in employment into the federal establishments except among officers from grade level 01-06, which must come from the host state,"
