News Opinion Features Sports Chic Columnists Faith Personage Magazine Interview Business Week Sunday Politics Ecowas Report Family Line Foreign News Chartered Secretaries hold confab Sept. 15 GOVERNOR Bola Tinubu of Lagos State will declare open the 28th annual conference of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators of Nigeria (ICSAN) on September 15 at Airport Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos. The two-day conference has as its theme: The Economic Regeneration of Nigeria: The Role of Administrators while the sub theme include "Mergers and Acquisitions: A challenge of administrators and the place of integrity and transparency in effective administration." President of the institute, Mr. Olusoji Majekodunmi said the conference would also examine tax administration and application of tax proceeds to the development of the Nigeria Economy as well as the "challenges of chartered secretaries and administrators" as experts in local government administration." Mr. Majekodunmi who said the themes were informed by the need to urgently overhaul the Nigerian economy, stressed the need for government to alleviate the sufferings of the masses through its economic policies. He further stated that the immediate past president of the institute, Dr. Erastus Akingbola will deliver the keynote address. Other faculty members, according to the ICSAN president, include Mr. Bunmi Oni, managing director of Cadbury Nigeria Plc; Dr. Julius Bala, the Director-General, Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE) and Hon. Abdul Lateef Mobolaji Hakeem, Chairman, House Committee on Local Government Affairs, Lagos State House of Assembly.
