Olukoya points way to Nigeria's survival
THE socio-economic and political problems plaguing Nigerian notwithstanding, hope is not lost, according to the General Overseer of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM), Dr. Daniel Kolawole Olukoya.
The power of God will soon overshadow the problems, he stated at the weekend.
However, there is a condition: the leadership and people of Nigeria more than before must move close to God and study the survival agenda of the Creator.
He stated that Nigeria would outlive the storm she is facing if the people can pray and move away from sin.
In his message titled: "Survival Agenda," at the Church's First International Convention/Anointing Service at its Prayer City on the Lagos - Ibadan Expressway, Olukoya noted that God-fearing people must raise their voices in prayers over the nation's woes.
He pointed out that God is the foremost and strongest leader and creator who can solve all problems.
He stressed that for the people to survive the times, "they must learn the survival agenda and key themselves into the powers of God."
Quoting from the scripture Mathew 10:16, the renowned cleric insisted that for the people to survive against the background of strange happenings coupled with the high rate of untimely death, they must be wise as the serpent and as gentle as the dove.
His words: "David spoke about surviving the valley of death in the book of Matthew, which is an interesting scripture which advises us to be wise as serpent and gentle as dove in order to survive the last days. And everything the Bible says will happen in the last days are already happening. It is a strange period. We must learn how to survive."
"To outlive the storm of life, therefore, we must not only be wise but we must be fighters and have the power of God."
He advised those facing persecution not to run away from such opposition, but cling to the power of God, so as not to lose their inheritance to the devil.
President Olusegun Obasanjo and other Nigerian leaders must surrender their lives to Jesus Christ, the clergyman said.
"This has become imperative because anybody without Jesus is a rebel against God and such person will not be protected. God cannot protect a rebellious child," he said.
Dr. Olukoya added: "The people must know their enemies, just as they must know their God, identity the source to their problems and know the weapons to use to destroy the root of such problems."
Among those who attended the event were Olorogun Michael Ibru and his wife, Cecilia, Chief Rasheed Alaba Williams, Mr. Magnus Onyibe who is Delta State commissioner for information, PDP Board of Trustees member, Dr. Bode Olajumoke and Mr. Debo Adesina, Editor/Deputy Editor-in-Chief of The Guardian.
