How Ondo 'll spend N398m EU fund, by Kekemeke

AKURE—  ONDO State government is to spend N398m on the purchase of medical equipment, construction of classrooms  and sinking of boreholes across the state, with the assistance of the micro project programmes of the European Union MMP6.
The Micro project programme of the European Union is in partnership with the federal government on the funding of micro  project in six Niger Delta states.

Speaking weekend in Akure, Ondo State Attorney general and Commissioner for justice, Mr. Isaacs Kekemeke said that  medical equipment worth N90 million for the 18 comprehensive centers would be purchased in the next one month.
According to him, the medical equipment would cost N5 million each and would be managed by the state government, adding  that the upgrading of the centers was to make the people of the grassroots have access to medical facilities.

On the construction of classroom, the commissioner, who briefed newsmen on the outcome of the weekly state executive  council meeting said that approval had been given for the construction of 35 blocks of six classroom in the next six months.
Kekemeke added that over N113 million has been approved for the construction and that the number of classrooms would be  increased to 90 within the next one year.

He pointed out that N36m had been released by the state government leaving the European Union programme to pay N54m as  its counterpart funding.
