| Shekarau tackles moral decadence in Kano |

KANO — KANO State governor Ibrahim Shekarau has inaugurated a societal re-orientation programme which he said is a plan aimed at getting optimal result of refocusing the morality of the people, adding that the only way to curb the menace in the society is to respect law and order throughself discipline.Speaking at the occasion which attracted thousands of people from all over the state, the governor said that the state government decided to set up the societal re-orientation programmes because of the level of moral decadence which is fast becoming the order of the day in the state.Governor Shekarau pointed out that decorum must be restored to the state and that the people must learn to pursue their private interest without trampling on the interest of others and without forgetting their responsibilities as citizens of the country.
The governor who said that he is operating under a tight challenge, stressed that he hope that the programme will make the people of the state a model in the country,he said the entire people of the state will be involved because the change is for all citizenry of the state.His words “We must realize that this administration is operating under some crucial challenges.
