The management of Media Trust (publishers of Daily and Weekly Trust newspapers) has been commen-ded for introducing a new marketing strategy that will ensure early delivery of its newspapers to all parts of the country.
Newspaper distributors and vendors drawn from all parts of the country gave the commendation in Abuja at a special conference organised for them by the company targeted at introducing new ways of serving the readers better.
Presenting awards of excellence to three distributors who distinguished themselves as the three best Trust newspapers distributors, chief executive of the company, Mallam Kabiru Yusuf said the Daily company will continue to honour distributors and vendors who distinguished themselves as the three best Trust newspapers distributor for the year.
He said the company will continue to reward hardworking and honest distributors and vendors annually, adding, “you are stakeholders in this company. We will continue to hold you people in high esteem. We expect you to reciprocate by marketing this paper as your personal business.”
The best all round Trust distributor award for the year was won by Alhaji Bala Yaro of Kano, who received twenty five thousand naira cash award, Mallam Haruna Adamu of Minna got fifteen thousand naira cash as the second while Electro Dauda of Jos collected ten thousand naira as the third best Trust distributor.
Each of the awardees were given a certificate of merit by the company.

He said under the new policy, the readers are regarded as the most important stakeholders and that everything must be geared towards serving the better.
He urged newspaper distributors to register with the company as major distributors so as to enjoy the highly attractive commission provided for them by the new marketing policy.
Also commenting, the company’s legal adviser, Barrister Aliyu Nasir, advised the distributors and vendors to be very honest and hardworking in marketing the paper as according to him, the company will not hesitate to take legal action to recover its money from any of them that decides to defraud it.
The marketing manager of the company, Mallam Abubakar Abdullahi, said the company will continue to organise such conferences, seminars and workshops for Trust newspaper distributors and vendors to enable them interact with the company on the means of rendering better services to readers.
