FCT police boss says violent crime curtailed in FCT By Benjamin Anta The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Commissioner of Police, Mr Emmanuel Adebayo, has said that the command has been able to control violent crimes in the FCT due to its proactive approach. He made this known to newsmen at the inauguration of the Police Community Relation Committee ((PCRC) last week at the “B” Division of Nigeria Police force at Utako. Mr Adebayo said that the FCT command had stationed policemen at every exit point and at the heart of the city to checkmate all forms of violent crime(s). On the recent spate of bank robberies in the capital city, Mr. Adebayo said that the force had posted more policemen to banks and other sensitive institutions in the FCT so that maximum security could be achieved. He said that the PCRC was another way of bringing the society and the police together in achieving a secured society. He called on Nigerians, more especially residents of the FCT, to cooperate with the police so that aims of community policing would be achieved. Mr. Adebayo called on the media to sensitise the public on the importance of cooperating with police so that all Nigerians resident in the FCT can feel secured while giving useful information to the force.
