THE councillor representing Tudun Wuzirci ward in Kano
Municipal council, Alhaji Kabiru Shehu Kabara has expressed concern over
what he called unnecessary trooping to offices individuals by making
personal demands.
In a chat with Daily Triumph on the issue, Alhaji
Kabara said that no fewer that 100 persons converge his office on a daily
basis urging for personal demands.
He therefore wondered why these hangerson should not
delegate a few persons to table their demands before their councillor who
would in turn table them before the council for necessary action.
On relationship between the legislative and the executive
arms of the council, Alhaji Kabara said it remains cordial considering the
way and manner in which the council chairman, Alhaji Salisu Maje Ahmad
Gwangwazo is handling the affairs of the council since he assumed office.
In his words: With the inception of the council various
projects have been executed in various settlements in Tudun Wuzirci ward
besides the sum of N120, 000 given to each of the 10 wards to safeguard
against flood disaster in their respective settlements�.
He further said that the council supported and assisted
in the execution of communal projects such as clearing of culverts and
drainage system as well as awarding contracts for the execution of three
projects in each of the 10 wards.
To the newly introduced societal reform programme by the
Kano state government known as a daidaita sahu, the councillor
commended the effort of Governor Ibrahim Shekarau for initiative, hoping
that the good gesture would be extended to remote areas for the betterment
of all.
To this end the, Tudun Wuzirci councillor extended a hand of friendship
to his people, saying that without their support and co-operation nothing
meaningful can be achieved.
