TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER, 14, 2004           Emir Bayero advises Nigerians on unity THE Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero has stressed the need for Nigerians to arm themselves with the culture of awareness in order to move the country forward. He made the call on Friday at the turbaning ceremony of Garsan Fulanin Kano, Chief Braimoh Deinde Fernandez in his palace. The emir said the conferment of Chief Deinde Fernandez with the title was part of the Kano Emirate Council�s determination to encourage and strength the existing relationship among ethnic groups in Nigeria particularly and Africa at large. He therefore commended the new Garsan Fulanin Kano for his contribution to the development of peace and unity among the people Nigeria and Africa and urged him to continue with his efforts in promoting of peace in Nigeria. The emir than thanked the Oba of Lagos and Alake of Abeokuta for their support and cooperation for of peace in Nigeria. On his part, the new Garsan Fulanin Kano, Chief Brainmoh Deinde Fernendez thanked the emir of Kano for recognizing him, adding that the title conferred on him will be used to improve the existing relationship among the people of the country especially Hausa/Fulani and the Yoruba community.
