Foreign Affairs, Responsibility of All, Says Obasanjo From Josephine Lohor in Abuja President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that issued on foreign affairs of Nigeria was the responsibility of all Nigerians and not that of Foreign Affairs Ministry exclusively. Speaking yesterday at a meeting with members of the House of Representatives Committee on Foreign Affairs at the State House, he stated that: "our foreign policy must be based on Nigerian public interest and all of us have a role to play in building the right image for Nigeria." The President who said that doing that would amount to Nigeria commanding grater respect from the international community, emphasised that the country had all it takes to be great. He also said that with its God-given resources and dynamic people, Nigeria could have a very enviable foreign policy, just as performance of Nigerians in and outside the country would determine its place in the comity of nations. While emphasising the importance of foreign affairs in the life of any nation, the President also harped on the need to find lasting peace in Sudan.
