STB Pledges IT Support for Varsity Managing Executive Officer of Standard Trust Bank Plc, Mr Kennedy Uzoka has pledged the bank's resolve to facilitate automation of operations of the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State. Uzoka's pledge was given when the Governing Council of the University, led by former Vice Chancellor, Professor John Osemeikhian, paid the bank a courtesy call. He said STB would provide computers and the requisite software that would facilitate on-line registration for students, results notification and verification, including delivery of lectures. "We are going to give you a complete ICT infrastructure to enable you run the university in a way that will enhance learning and make your work easier and more exciting," he said. Uzoka said STB had done it at the University of Benin, Edo State, with great results, noting that the effort is in line with the Bank's corporate social responsibility to the society that has given so much to it. He said apart from the old generation banks, STB is the biggest employer of labour in the banking industry and would always remain one of the top-rated banks. He said in its pro-active nature, the bank had gone to the capital market to increase its capital base even before the Central Bank of Nigeria's recapitalisation directive. According to him, with about N20 billion capital base, STB is very confident of surpassing the N25 billion set by the CBN, well ahead of the deadline. Earlier, the University's spokesman, Professor John Osemeikhian, expressed happiness that the bank is led by an alumnus of the University. "We are happy that Standard Trust Bank is growing from strength to strength everyday. We feel proud that an alumnus of our University is at the helm of affairs. This is our own bank," he said.
