Commissioner Promises Women Empowerment

Kogi State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs Yemisi Ogunmola has reiterated her ministry's commitment to empower women.

Ogunmola, who spoke with reporters on her ministry's plans for women in the state, opined that over N42 million has been budgeted for micro-credit scheme project for the empowerment of women in the state.

She commended efforts of the state governor's wife, Mrs Ibrahim Idris, in the upliftment of women in the state, adding that her vision is to empower women in the state with the scheme.

On women vocational training, Ogunmola said plans are already on to give training to women in areas like tailoring, soap making, hairdressing, cloth weaving, computer training and other areas needed for development.

On Child Right Bill in the state, the commissioner said law would be enforced to assist children to grow socially and be good ambassadors of the society.
