Govt to Stop Workers' Salary Adamawa From Abel Orih Idoma in Yola Adamawa State government is to suspend payment of salaries of its workers who were engaged from 1993 to-date without executive approval, with effect from this month, pending final verification exercise. A communiqu� issued at the end of the state executive council meeting in Yola, said in addition, those without personal sub-head numbers would equally have their wages suspended,adding that consideration would be given when due on the fate of the affected persons. Accordingly, a sub-committee of the executive council was set up to carry out the verification exercise, with the Commissioner for Land and Survey, Alhaji Ahmed Abo as chairman. Other members include the Commissioner of Finance, Hon. John B. Elias, Commissioner for Rural Development, while Chair-man of the Civil Service Commission is the Secretary of the Committee. In the case of employees that duplicate personnel sub-head numbers, the council subjected the matter to further verification by the Committee.
