Council Chairman Faults New Revenue Formula
Osun
From Hammed Shittu in Osogbo

New Revenue Formula proposed by the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission to the National Assembly yesterday came under attack, as Chairman, Ede North Local Government Council area of Osun State, Alhaji Tejuade Adisa, faulted it.

In the new formula, the Federal Government would take 46.6 per cent, state 33 percent and local government 20.3 per cent .

Speaking with newsmen at Ede while receiving members of the state council of Nigeria Union of Jounarlists (NUJ), led by their state Chairman, Prince Ayoade Adedayo as part of the activities marking OSUN NUJ, press week, Adisa said the proposed sharing formular was uncalled for, considering the importance of grassroots development.

According to him" local government councils are so closed to the people than the federal or state government and should be given higest allocation.
