2007 Campaign Premature, Says Group By Uchenna Ohakam The South-west headquarters of Obasanjo Solidarity Forum (OSF) has warned campaigners for the 2007 presidential election to keep off because it office will not entertain them. Rejecting the campaigners in a statement in Lagos, the founding Secretary of the organisation, Alhaji Lekan Yesuff said OSF members would not entertain any of the aspirants in compliance with the directives made by President Olusegun Obasanjo. It would be racalled that the campaigners had recently touched the OSF headquaters at Ojo.. to seek support for 2007 aspirants by displaying campaign posters and insiting that their aspirants has solution to various problems facing Nigeria at the moment. However, while rejecting their moves, Yusuff drew attention of the campaigners to the directives of President Obasanjo, which indicated the that it was premature and disversionary for people to start campaigning for now. "If OSF supported any aspirant now, it could be mischievously construed that such an aspirant had the blessing of Mr. President," he warned. He said members of OSF in the South-west are in support of President Obasanjo, adding that members are now concerned with the success of the various reforms and restructing now being effected by the President and his team. Yusuff, who advised the campaigners to stay off OSF headquaters, declared that OSF members would obtain express directives from President Obasanjo, the national headquater of OSF in Abuja and Dr. Gbolade Osinowo of the Presidency at the appropriate time before year 2007. He pleaded with all Nigerians to support President Obasanjo in the quest to make Nigeria a better country to live in and also insisted that the President meant well for the masses.
