2007: Southern Kaduna Youth Fault PDP on Zoning From Agaju Madugba in Kaduna The simmering conflict over which part of Kaduna state produces the governor in 2007 heightened yesterday as the People�s Democratic Party (PDP) zone one (northern Kaduna) announced its decision to concede the position to either zone two (central Kaduna) or zone three (southern Kaduna). But the Southern Kaduna Youth vanguard (SOKAYOV) described the development as a fraudulent move to stop the area from producing the governor in 2007. The PDP zone one made it resolve at a press conference by the majority leader of the Kaduna state House of Assembly, Hon. Abdullahi Adamu Ikara. According to him, all party members from the zone had resolved that, �the gubernatorial candidate for the year 2007 in Kaduna state should come either from zone two or zone three as the case may be. However, if so generally acceptable candidate emerges we shall be compelled to reconsider our position.' Reacting to the pronouncement, SOKAYOU president, Modaccai Ibrahim, told THISDAY in an interview yesterday that, �they are trying to rubbish the chances of southern Kaduna from producing the governor in 2007. Governor Makarfi himself is an exponent of the struggle for power shift to the north, at the federal level, so, why can�t we apply the same rule in Kaduna? It is ridiculous for anyone to suggest that the governorship of the state should rotate. Among the three senatorial zones.
