Pensioners Owed N230m Taraba From Takuruku Promise in Jalingo Chairman, Taraba State Pension Board, Alhaji. Idris Waziri, has said the state government owe pensioners N230 million. Waziri said the amount is outstanding arrears of 1,094 penssioners accuring from the 30 per cent and 142 per cent approved by the Federal Government in year 2000. He said the state requires N3 million to pay gratuities of five hundred penssioners adding that about 273 penssioners were omitted in the last screening exercise, explaining that the state pensions board was constrained by lack of office accommodation and vehicles to effectively carry the activities of the board and called on the state government to look into the problems and proffer solutions.
