Design of The Guardian website
SIR: I have been a loyal reader of The Guardian Newspapers since its inception in the 1980s, in the days of simply "Mister". The Guardian has been an opinion leader in the Nigerian scheme of things, particularly, in the fourth estate of the realm/ journalism.
It is simply a delight and great pleasure, every morning here in New York, as I awake to read The Guardian, my source of what is going on, in the world, especially in Nigeria and Africa.
The Guardian has changed to a new format, the new mast-head and layout is very nice and comparable to the New York Times and other international newspapers and magazines.
But I would encourage The Guardian to retain the deep-blue colours it had, before this new layout. It is all about image and brand recognition.
As your layout is a wonderful improvement, you should jealously, guard your colours and appearance. It is now world renowned!
Please, keep the deep-blue rendition. It is the logo and colour, that let everyone know, that they have logged on to The Guardian website!
I enjoyed The Guardian for many years in Nigeria and since living here in New York, The Guardian online version is part of my daily routine, I have no breakfast without it!
