Dariye Shouldn't Be Reinstated, Says Osun Speaker From Hammed Shittu in Osogbo Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Chief Adejare Bello, has urged President Olusegun Obasanjo not to reinstate the suspended Governor of Plateau State, Chief Joshua Dariye. He said Dariye does not deserve to return because the people of Plateau State in particular and Nigerians in general, had lost confidence in him. Calling on Obasanjo not to succumb to blackmail by politicians rooting for Dariye's return, Bello, who spoke in Osogbo, weekend, added that the governor allowed the events in the state to overwhelm him. Bello, who enjoined the Igbo to channel their grievances through the right channel, noted that calling for secession was not the best way to achieve political aspiration. He condemned the refusal of the Ikemba Nnewi, Chief Odumewu Ojukwu, to honour an invitation by State Security Service (SSS), saying a personality of Ojukwu's calibre must not disobey constituted authorities. The Speaker charged SSS to arrest the former warlord of the defunct Biafra Republic, stressing that Ojukwu should not be allowed to believe that he is above the law. "Chief Ojukwu should not be allowed to go scot-free. He should be arrested and duly charged for disrespecting constituted authority. By his utterances, Ojukwu has not laid a good example for younger Nigerians to follow. What is in an invitation?" Bello queried.
