Akume to Deliver UI Alumni Lecture Benue Benue State Governor George Akume, is to deliver the 2004 University of Ibadan Alumni lecture on Friday, September 24. A statement from the Chairman and Secretary of the Planning Committee, Messrs Bamidele Akinseye, JP, and Francis Jegede, disclosed that the event will take place at the Trenchard Hall of the institution by 5 pm under the Chairmanship of Professor Ayodele Falase, Vice-Chancellor of the University. The statement said the topic of the lecture: 'Political Scepticism as an impediment to the Sustenance of Nigerian Democracy: The views of a Sociologist in Politics. Akume earned a Bachelors degree in Sociology from the University of Ibadan in 1978 and later did postgraduate studies at the same institution leading to a Masters degree in Industrial and Labour Relations in 1986.
