JCI Set to Commission Training Centre Lagos By Adebayo Aderoju and Ibrahim Bolarinwa Ikoyi Junior Chamber affiliated to Junior Chamber Nigeria and Junior Chamber International Inc is set to commission a Vocational Training and Counselling Centre come October 29 at Lekki in Lagos. The Director of Public Affairs, Ikoyi Junior Chamber, Mrs. Chogwu Akoh, said this during her visit to THISDAY corporate office in Lagos. She noted that as part of their contribution to the advancement of the society, the centre would be serving as mind builder for the secondary school dropouts and those who are willing to be self-employed through the training. She added that some private individuals in different human endeavours have volunteered to offer free courses that would always last for duration of four months to the interested members of the public. She added that fund has been sought from various establishments and governments so as to cater for the need of participants at the end of their graduation to help them start the business of their interest. She stated that by 2005, the project would have turned around the country positively, saying Ikoyi Junior Chamber would be moving to the centre that would house the secretariat after the commissioning.
