Assembly's Majority Leader Impeached Taraba From Takuruku Promise in Jalingo Majority Leader of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Mr Ishiaka Bawa, was impeached at the weekend by a simple majority vote. Bawa's impeachment ca -me on the heels of accusation of alleged incompetence, self-centredness, greed and abandonment of Assembly activities for private business. During the sitting, 15 members voted for the impeachment out of the 24 members in attendance. Last week, Bawa turned the Assembly complex into a battle field when he knocked down the Sergent-at-Arms and seized the mace and used it to hit people, in an attempt to stop his impeachment. His action incurred the wrath of other members and the Peoples Democratic Party officials who quickly summoned a meeting with the leadership of the House and other members at the Presidential lodge where Ishiaka apologised to the party.
