ChevronTexaco Plans Independence Match The management and staff of ChevronTexaco in Nigeria will commemorate the nation's 44th independence anniversary on Friday with a novelty match billed for the sports grounds of the British International School, Lagos. The match, tagged Super match 11, will afford the ChevronTexaco employees an opportunity to join millions of Nigerians to celebrate the anniversary and have some fun together, whilst putting into action the company's policy of diversity, aimed at emphasising the strength and benefits inherent in a cultural diverse workforce. Two teams- 'Jay Pryor babes' and 'Sally Udoma Giants' will lost horns in the match that would be watched by many dignitaries, among them Mr. George Kirkland, President ChevronTexaco Overseas Petroleum incorporated, federal and Lagos state legislators as well as, top oil industry officials. The Chairman and Managing Director of Chevron Nigeria Limited, Mr. Jay Pryor will lead the 'Jay Pryor Babes' while Mrs. Sally Udoma, general Manager, Executive Staff, will lead the 'Sally Udoma Giants.' Even though it is a novelty match, the encounter promises to be full of fun, thrills and fireworks. For Jay Pryor Babes, who lost 1-2 to 'Sally Udoma Giants' in ' Super match 1' held last year October 1 to mark Nigeria's 43rd Independence anniversary. It will be pay back time this year. They will count on their new found strength in attack to overrun their opponents and revenge last year's defeat. The Giants meanwhile have reinforced their defence with a view of re-confirming their superiority.
