Tinubu Approves Youth Festival Ahead of the 2006 National Sports Festival, the Lagos State Gover-nor, Asiwaju Ahmed Bola Tinubu has given approval to the staging of the Lagos State Youth festival in 2005 to prepare athletes of the state. Dropping this hint was the Commissioner for Youths, Sports and Social Development, Mr. Opeyemi Bamidele who said, "2006 is just like few months ahead and the state does not want to leave anything to chance to ensure that the state assume the rightful place it belongs to on the medal table." The festival, he disclosed will be equivalent of the National Sports Festival will afford the state opportunity to discover fresh talents that would be groomed to prosecute the 2006 national sports festival in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
