RMS Unveils New Identity
Research and Marketing Services Limited (RMS) has unveiled a new corporate logo in the bid to further the outfit as a leading player in the marketing research business in Nigeria and other parts of Africa. The new logo was made public during the 1-Day Research Awareness Workshop with the theme "Adding Value to Your Business" organised by Research and Marketing Services Group in collaboration with the Lagos Business School last Wednesday.
Speaking on the need and philosophy behind the new RMS logo, the group managing director, Mr. K. A. Tejumola
The unveiling ceremony is symbolic of the new dimension of operations now to be found within the Agency. It heralds our renewed vigour, enhanced capacity and reach in the world of research - an unveiling of a re-invigorated market-dominant brand within the hemisphere of global research Our new drive is to fly, not just the national and regional markets but we now intend to fly the whole of the African market and more. Our sights are trained on the international research market," he emphasised.
Research and Marketing Services started some twenty-four years ago with very humble ambitions. The agency has grown over time from one that operated in a two bedroom flat in down town Surulere Lagos with two employees to that which is a leader in the Nigerian market with four international units (Ghana, Cameroon, Cote d'Ivoire and Senegal) and a multinational employee base of both permanent and casual staff that is over 5,000. We have capacity to conduct research in not less than twenty-seven African markets.
He said RMS has tried to prepare itself for the new challenges ahead through international personnel sourcing to enhance the quality of outputs and create what is turning out to be an interesting collaboration between vastly experienced indigenous and international personnel. We have successfully gone 'glocal' - we have created synthesis between global expertise and local experience. In addition, in line with international practice, we have embarked on restructuring of our agency, with the assistance of none other than Accenture, a top management consultancy firm. Bureau Veritas has also been commissioned to get an ISO certification for the Agency as stipulated by Gallup International by the year 2005, he said.
By virtue of the new positioning, RMS is expected to provide professional leadership to the industry in Nigeria and indeed the whole of Africa collaborating with global leaders in the industry. RMS, an affiliate of Gallup has relationship with other research bodies.
Earlier, Mr. Tejumola said the workshop is a gesture of appreciation to RMS` clients, research partners and to consultants. This workshop is indeed a statement of our intention to continue to grow with our clients in the months and years ahead. We also see it as a forum within which expectations about our professional competences can also be made known to us thus fostering better conception of the needs of our clients. The importance that we attach to meeting the needs of our clients made us to invite some of our vastly experienced clients as well as specialists from the Lagos Business School to also make presentations in this workshop. We believe that this is tantamount to hearing it from the horse's mouth. What our limitations are, those things that we need to re-enforce and those things that we are doing right, he stressed.
Speakers at the workshop included Mr. Ike Emegwali of LBS, Mr. Philip Nwosisi of the British America Tobacco United Kingdom, among other eight speakers
