Fortune Bank Directors Approve Merger Sequel to the discussions entered by Fortune Bank Plc and five other groups on the on-going consolidation of banks, the Board of Directors of the banks last week approved the options which its management has recommended, urging that further clarifications be made on their approval so that an unhindered and efficient decision be made on the recommended options. According to the bank, the directors have empowered the management to fine-tune and further explore the fortunes in the two groups which were chosen out of the five groups already pre-selected to enable it make a final choice very soon. Presently, the two groups according to the bank, are believed to be of good standing, having met the quality consideration that Fortune Bank needs to impress on its growing clientele that it will not deviate from its robust commercial banking background which took its roots five years ago. It is believed that the bank will make public the fruitful deliberations involving it and it partners in the next few weeks in a grand ceremony that would be used to further unfold its long-term millennium plans which will offer lasting confidence to government's consolidation plans. Impressed by the quality and level of options the management has made before it, the Board has affirmed that the ratifications of the final partnership will be presented to the AGM, which will likely hold in November for approval. Few weeks ago, the Board of Directors of Fortune International Bank Plc approved a merger plan with core banking groups as a response to the on-going consolidation plan in the industry. It had equally directed its executive management to review urgently on-going discussions with five different core banking groups and advice accordingly to enable the Board seek ratification of the shareholders.
