Bond Bank To Raise N25bn Bond Bank will soon raise N25 billion by way of a private placement being the first step of a three phase consolidation plan to move it to the next level. This was disclosed at an extraordinary General Meeting held at the weekend in Lagos. Already investors and customers have rated the Bond Bank brand highly, some of whom prior to the CBN directive, had requested for an opprtunity to be shareholders in the growth and success of the bank. According to thebank's source, significant financial commitments have already been made by interested investors. As chief Femi Somolu, the bank's chairman, explained, "Investing in Bond bank by buying shares through the private placement will translate to good returns on investment and allows the investors to join a select and visionary group of shareholders. Investing in Bond Bank is investing in growth stock." Bond bank which opened its doors to the public in November 2002 has quickly carved a unique path for itself by bringing a refreshingly different approach to the practice of banking in Nigeria. The result being an impressive and unequalled first year profit before tax of N530million and total balance sheet size of over N19billion.
