Europe's Court of First Instance has ordered Microsoft to create two versions of its Windows operating system for the European market; one version of the OS will include programs for playing digital music and video, and the other will not. E.U. anti-trust regulators determined that the bundling of the media-playing software is anti-competitive because it obstructs the chance of Microsoft's media-playing software rivals to compete for customers on Windows-based computers. Microsoft's request to stay enforcement of the order was rejected because according to the court, Microsoft failed to prove that it would suffer irreparable harm if the company were forced to modify Windows before exhausting its court appeals.

the us american wild-west style of making business combined with us american corrupt politicians who bend the law in order to protect multi-billion dollars companies won't be tolerated by the EU. thus the court order is justified and correct, as it pulls the brakes for all kinds of monopolies. more court orders from europe will come in the future targeting firms such as HP, SUN, and others.
