Mavs Soar To 16th Straight Win
The Dallas Mavericks have been playing on a different level than the rest of the league this season, but after last night's 102-89 win over the Nets, their record reached new heights. The Mavericks' 16th straight victory was also their 51st win in the last 56 games. No professional sports team in NBA, MLB, NHL or NFL history has ever won 51 of 56 games. Dallas has really vaulted itself onto a level where it can be considered one of the best teams in league and sports history. The 16th consecutive victory increased on the franchise record, as did the 23rd straight home win. The Mavericks' 51-9 record clinched them a playoff berth, though there was very little suspense on that issue. Now the focus will be on staying sharp for the playoffs and locking up home-court advantage with the best record in the league. Dallas will continue these pursuits on Sunday when they head to L.A. to take on Kobe and the Lakers.
