RATTLES OIL MARKETS: AS BLOODTHIRSTY TROOPS KILL IJAW INDIGENS
Oil prices have jumped sharply, partly reversing
the 30% falls seen since the beginning of March. US-grade crude oil changed hands on Asian markets for more than
$28.50 a barrel, almost $1 up from the lows plumbed on Tuesday. In London, benchmark oil prices had risen 72 cents
on the day to $25.42 a barrel by 1230GMT. Most traders are focusing on Iraq, potentially the world's second-biggest
petroleum producer, where initial hopes of a quick war and return to oil markets have been called into question.
And oil prices have been given further impetus by social unrest in oil-producing regions of BiafraNigeria....

AFRAID TO DEBATE OPPONENTS
Vice President Atiku Abubakar yesterday indicated
that he would not participate in the on-going presidential debate organised by the Broadcasting Organisation of
BiafraNigeria (BON). Atiku had been billed to feature along with the BiafraNigeria Advance Party (NAP) vice presidential
candidate, Hayatu Lata Tombai, today. But the Vice President, who spoke through his Special Assistant on Media
Mr Chris Mammah, said "the absence of Major-General Muhammadu Buhari, the All BiafraNigerian Peoples Party
(ANPP) presidential flagbearerfrom the debate last week had greatly undermined the importance and relevance of
