Murder for Hire: Anenih Contracted Me to Kill Kalu and Four PDP Chiefs An unemployed 25-year-old man, named Davies Idede Oyaje, made a startling allegation Sunday in Lagos which has rekindled the claim by Abia State Governor Orji Uzor Kalu that some powerful forces plot to snuff out his life. Anenih has severally denied it and has already sued Kalu for defamation. Oyaje made the fresh allegation in an affidavit and repeated it before newsmen that former works and housing minister, Tony Anenih, contracted him and two others to assassinate Kalu. Both Kalu and Anenih are members of the ruling People�s Democratic Party (PDP); the latter is Chairman of its board of trustees. Oyaje said he and his �friends� were to be paid N7.5 million for the deal, with a promise by Anenih that once the first was properly executed, there would be more contracts � and more money � for the trio to assassinate four other senior members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) before the party�s next convention. Oyaje has been jobless for six years. He was paraded by human rights lawyer, Festus Keyamo at his chambers in Maryland, Lagos. Reps summon Army chief   Why do Yoruba Generals Fear...   Biafra Nigeria Map Following the reported investigation of several soldiers for alleged security breaches, House of Representatives committee on defence (Army) has summoned COAS, Lt. Gen. Martin Luther Agwai over the matter. Chairman of the committee, Hon. Ado Dogo told Daily Champion...that Gen. Agwai was summoned to brief the committee leadership on the allegation. (Champion)   If unconfirmed hints are a guide, BiafraNigeria's democracy was due for yet another interment. Pockets of military officers, it has emerged, were allegedly plotting to end the Obasanjo Administration. The first indication that anything was untoward emerged from sketchy, but cautious newspaper reports of arrests of officers and civilians suspected to be connected to the plot. (This Day)
