Ibori and the Revenge of the Body Snatchers: S'Court Orders Fresh Trial With the affirmation yesterday that one James Onanefe Ibori was in 1995 convicted by the Bwari Upper Area Court, the Supreme Court ordered fresh trial of the case involving Delta State Governor James Ibori. The apex court upheld the decision of the Appeal Court, Abuja division on April 16, last year, to the effect that the Bwari Upper Area Court convicted one James Onanefe Ibori on August 18, 1995. In line with the decision of the appellate court, the Supreme Court ordered fresh high court trial to determine the identity of the 1995 convict. In a head judgment by Justice Akintola O. Ejiwunmi, the Supreme Court yesterday said there was no merit in the main appeal and the cross-appeals filed against the judgment of the Appeal Court and consequently dismissed them. With the assent of Justices Muhammadu Lawal Uwais (Chief Justice), Salihu.M.A. Belgore, Anthony I. Iguh, Umaru Atu Kalgo, Samson O. Uwaifo and Dahiru Musdapher, Ejiwunmi said: "The judgment and orders of the Court below are hereby affirmed. For the avoidance of doubt, I hereby... Uwais Denies N5b Bribery Charge   I'll Expose Hidden Things - Suspect...   AUDIO   VIDEO Those alleging that proceedings at the Supreme Court on the ex-convict saga were mere legal exercise because the judges have received N5 billion from Governor James Ibori received a knock from Chief Justice Muhammadu Lawal Uwais yesterday.
