Senators are Rumor Mongers: Retreat boils as Wabara tackles colleagues The Senate retreat in Port Harcourt, yesterday, turned into bickering after Senate President, Chief Adolphus Wabara, accused his colleagues who were demanding accountability from the leadership of rumour-mongering. The stormy session which eventually entered into an executive session resolved to bury the issues with a stern warning to senators to keep the issues in dispute from the public. Explaining reason for the temporary deviation from the scheduled activities of the day, Senator Tawar Wada, chairman of the Senate Committee on Information, said the halt in proceedings was to enable the Senate refocus on the objectives of the retreat. Mr. Wayne Propst, Country Director of the National Democratic Institute (NDI), facilitators of the retreat, told newsmen yesterday that the retreat was on course and that the workshop was progressing towards its objectives of building the capacities of senators for legislative duties. Ibori: Applicants Back In Court   Banks Get Ultimatum: NLC Threatens...   AUDIO   VIDEO The re-trial ordered by the Supreme Court to determine the actual person bearing the name James Onanefe Ibori convicted of criminal acts by a Bwari Area Court, Abuja in 1995 has now been fixed for March 10, 2004 at the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Two petitioners and members of the Delta State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had alleged that Delta State governor, Chief James Ibori, was the person convicted by the Bwari Area court...
