Return of Mr. Gap Tooth?: I will contest 2007 presidency, says IBB All doubts over whether former military President, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, will contest the presidential election in 2007 vanished at the weekend. His aides confirmed at the weekend that he will run. Babangida made his intention known while receiving the committee members and zonal co-ordinators of the �IBB Vision 2007� at his Hilltop Mansion, Minna, Niger State. The occasion also witnessed his investiture as the Grand Patron of the group. To realise his ambition, Babangida has reportedly approved the sacking of zonal co-ordinators of the group, originally known as �IBB Vision 2003,� and authorised the appointment of experienced hands in their place. Two former Deputy Senate Presidents have been brought on board to flesh up the strategy. Atiku may lose chairmanship of NCP   Corruption: Supreme Ct. Okays ICPC Act   AUDIO   VIDEO Vice-President Atiku Abubakar would lose the chairmanship of National Council on Privatisation (NCP), if the new bill seeking to repeal the Privatisation and Commercialisation Act No 28 of 1999 succeeds at the National Assembly. Already, the Senate and House of Representatives had committed the bill to the appropriate standing committees after it scaled through the second reading (general debate on it) to complete the legislative work. (Daily Times)   The Supreme Court, for the second time, yesterday, gave legal impetus to the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related offences Act 2000 as it revalidated its earlier declaration in 2003 that the act was constitutional.
