The self-proclaimed godfather of Anambra State politics, Chief Chris Uba, yesterday gave notice of his intention to withdraw from the Owerri peace accord facilitated by Senate President Adolphus Wabara. He premised his decision on a breach of the agreement contained in the accord by Governor Chris Ngige. But Ngige yesterday denied ever breaching the accord which he said Uba and his supporters were giving different meanings. Also, the Court of Appeal in Enugu yesterday granted the application of Hon. Nelson Achukwu that it should stay proceedings in the appeal filed by Ngige against the order of Justice Stanley Nnaji of Enugu High Court. Uba, who gave the notice in a statement circulated to newsmen in Abuja, said he has written a letter to Wabara, in his capacity as the Chairman of South-east Committee on the Resolution of Anambra Crisis, "on his current stand on the peace efforts in Anambra, especially as related to the Owerri Peace Accord."
