PDP Summons Nzeribe over role in Senate crisis: Wabara explains Obasanjo, Ogbeh, Anenih�s roles Party bosses have summoned Senator Francis Arthur Nzeribe to appear before them to explain his alleged role in the recent Senate troubles. He will be grilled on Wednesday next week by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the People�s Democratic Party (PDP). Just as they did, effusive gratitude flowed from the heart of Senate President Adolphus Wabara as he acknowledged before his colleagues on Thursday the intervention of the leadership of the People�s Democratic Party (PDP) in the crisis. And he was generous in praise for his fellow lawmakers, who congregated in a full house. Wabara needed to be. The impasse nearly led to him being pushed over the edge, into political abyss. He would have become the third Senate helmsman to be sacked in the five years of the Fourth Republic. "No victor, no vanquished,� he declared while applauding his colleagues... 630 killed in Yelwa, says Red Cross   BiafraNigeria's 'Town of Death'   Biafra Nigeria Map The ethno-religions crisis that erupted in Yelwa town of Shendam local government area of Plateau State has so far claimed the lives of more than 630 people, the Red Cross has confirmed. The crisis which resurfaced last Sunday has forced Muslim residents of the locality to flee Shendam which they said had become unsafe, and a senior Red Cross official told the AFP news agency yesterday that at least 630 people were killed in the renewed violence, with many left with injuries. (Daily Trust)   Felled trees, branches and piles of junk metal lie across the road to Yelwa. They were placed there last week by armed men who wanted to stop security agencies coming into town and stopping the killings. The closer we got to Yelwa, the more signs of destruction we saw. Burned houses, and the twisted metal and shattered windows of cars, abandoned by the side of the road.
